If
you've resolved to do more for the environment, good on you. We Nomadik
Fanatiks think there's no better cause, except maybe converting your cubicle
buddy to a smoke-free lifestyle. If you want to lighten your footprint but
haven't a clue where to start, our guest blogger this week can help. Katy,
editor of The Renewable Planet, has a
whackload of tips to get started. Here's what she's all about:
Katy
developed a close tie with nature early on after being repeatedly left up in a
tree by her brothers while they ran home for supper. From that inauspicious
beginning, her experience has grown to include zoo keeper, tree planter, stream
restorer, social activist, government committee member, journalist and green
business manager. She has learned along the way that the environment is an
integral part of the natural, social and economic aspects of our lives.
Armed
with a degree in environmental studies, Katy expanded her knowledge and understanding
of the scope of environmental issues working at the peer reviewed publication;
Alternatives Journal. Katy has been responsible for government funded focus
groups and surveys whose goal was to understand consumer knowledge and opinions
regarding environmental issues. This research
experience has been instrumental in developing the educational and solutions
based focus of The Renewable Planet.
Welcome
to Nomadik, Katy!
