Earth Day Around the World

How are you celebrating Earth Day? Cleaning the yard? The Neighborhood? Going for hike in a nearby wilderness or camping far from home? Maybe you've packed up the kids for a bike ride and picnic at the park. It doesn't really matter how you celebrate Mother Earth - just get out there and do it.

  2. Dos Lagos CA - Let yours kid make a solar-powered model car or learn about green technology in the Inland Empire. Dos Lagos Earth Day is sponsored by GIVE - Green Institute for Village Empowerment.
  3. Key Biscane, FL - A full day of outdoor celebrations in Crandon Park at Waterfest Gone Green. Non-stop concerts, an eco-village filled with green vendors and lots of workshops to help you go green this year. Even better, munch on delicious sustainable foods.
  4. Tofino BC - Walk for the Earth. The Wickaninnish Inn Green Committee is sponsoring a walk in Clayquot Sound, and all donations will go to the Ecotrust and Raincoast Interpretive Centre. Dogs are welcome as long as they're leashed.
  5. Polk County, FL - Be part of a peace circle around Lake Morton today. This is a non-political, silent gathering in support of everything that is good for the Earth.
  6. Sleeping Giant Park, CT - Enjoy an Earth Day hike through Sleeping Giant Park. Can you think of a better way to celebrate the day?
  7. Madison, WI - Celebrate Earth Day and John Muir's birthday with a hike through his boyhood homeland. You'll hear some of Muir's writings and enjoy discussions on why many of this environmental and conservation issues are still important today.
  8. Koh Samui, Thailand - Scour the beach for marine debris to send to The Ocean Conservancy where they'll be analyzed for status and trends of similar debris around the world.
  9. Korangi, Pakistan - The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry is hosting a seminar with speakers from Global Environmental Labs. If you want to learn how industry leaders are taking a cleaner approach to manufacturing, this is the event for you.
  10. Tirana, Albania - Grand Park is a lake, but it's also a park that's meant to be enjoyed, celebrated and preserved for the future. Join locals and tourists today for an environmental carnival on the streets, trails and green spaces of this beautiful area.
